What if the little boy had withheld his two fish and five loaves from the disciples? Would the people have gone hungry? Dispersed in search of food? Would Jesus have performed a different kind of miracle in order to feed them? We will never know... Because the little boy offered up all he had, a crowd of 5,000 men (not including women and children) “all ate and were satisfied (Mark 6:42)” and had 12 baskets of food left over. By sharing, the little boy unlocked a door for supernatural provision. Sharing is an invitation for miracles.

Something in our human nature kicks in during those toddler years: "Mine!" becomes the most popular word in our limited vocabulary. While our adult mouths may no longer be screeching "Mine!" to our co-workers, fellow classmates, friends & family, our hearts can be shouting it from the rooftops. "God, really??? I don't want to share that______ with ________" (fill in the blank with what /who tweaks you the most :-|). Why is it that even as adults, it can still be so hard to share? Whether it's our finances, our time or our resources, sharing just doesn't always come naturally. Change us, Lord! He can. And He will. The deeper we grow in Him, the freer we give to Him.
