Fake Good News

Galatians

We begin our summer series with a book study of Galatians, the letter that the apostle Paul wrote to the Christians in Galatia (the area we know as Turkey today). In this letter, Paul writes a rigorous defense of the true Good News: we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. No amount of merit earned, works performed, or laws observed will save us. We are simply saved by grace through faith. May the true gospel of Jesus Christ transform and free us all!

From Series: "Galatians"

You've probably all heard it said, "If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is." A deal or an offer pops up and we feel like we've just been given an incredible offer of a lifetime...for about 15 seconds. Then something in our gut says, "Wait a second, that seems too good to be true...". And more times than not, we're exactly right. We begin our new summer sermon series: "By Grace Alone", a study of the book of Galatians. From the very beginning of the book, Paul calls out the people for "following a different way that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News." (1:7). Because being saved by grace (alone) through faith seemed too good to be true, the people couldn't believe it. How about you?
