Freedom Bears Fruit

Galatians

Living by the Spirit produces good fruit –a variety of fruit that is much better than what is produced by indulging in the sinful nature! The fruit of the Spirit is so good that no one has a problem with us producing and manifesting it as it doesn't have any negative side effects! When we belong to Jesus, the sinful nature is killed and we are no longer bound to do what our old nature urges us to do (Gal 5:24). In the passage that we'll look at this week, Paul invites us to stay in step with the Spirit so that our lives will bear the type of fruit that blesses others and glorifies God!

From Series: "Galatians"

You've probably all heard it said, "If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is." A deal or an offer pops up and we feel like we've just been given an incredible offer of a lifetime...for about 15 seconds. Then something in our gut says, "Wait a second, that seems too good to be true...". And more times than not, we're exactly right. We begin our new summer sermon series: "By Grace Alone", a study of the book of Galatians. From the very beginning of the book, Paul calls out the people for "following a different way that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News." (1:7). Because being saved by grace (alone) through faith seemed too good to be true, the people couldn't believe it. How about you?
