Never Alone

It\'s Better This Way

Paráklētosis the Greek word for “Helper”. This is the word used in the passage above where Jesus is prophesying about the Holy Spirit’s coming. Other translations use the words comforter, advocate, counselor, encourager, intercessor – even savior has been used! Each translation is correct; He is all of these things! Jesus was confined to a physical body while on Earth. The Holy Spirit has come to dwell within us and fill us. With Him, we are never alone.

From Series: "It's Better This Way"

Welcome to our new sermon series, “It’s Better This Way”. Over two thousand years ago, in some of the last moments that Jesus had with His disciples before being arrested, He told them “It is to your advantage that I go away”. Can you imagine the perplexed looks; the furrowed brows of the disciples as they heard Jesus say this? He then adds, “…for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.” (John 16:7). Who is this Helper that Jesus was referring to? Come join us this week as we introduce you to someone we’ll be getting to know better & more deeply over the next 6 weeks: the Holy Spirit.
