Make It Count

Grace and Hope

Peter is known as the "apostle of hope. “It’s from this posture that he repeatedly addresses the issue of suffering throughout this letter and "camps out" on it in the verses we're focusing on this week. We all suffer, whether in our bodies, minds or spirits – through relationships, governments or persecution. As we study this portion of scripture, let's let the hope that Peter carries propel us to see beyond our current sufferings to a coming glory that begs us to trust in our faithful Father.

As Peter writes this letter to the Christians scattered throughout Asia Minor, they are already encountering some measure of persecution – and it appears that even more suffering is on the horizon.
