7 Lessons From A Shepherd

Do you See What I See

This week we continue our advent series by looking at the story of the shepherds, the first people to see Jesus and the first to tell the world about Him. In preparation for Sunday, read Luke 1-2:20 (or at least 2:8-20). As you meditate on the story you’ll discover much more than initially meets the eye. This story offers a variety of keys to the Christian life, as relevant as ever 2,000 years later.

From Series: "Do you See What I See"

Our God doesn’t think the way we think and He doesn’t work in the ways we would – in fact, His thoughts and His ways are WAY beyond and WAY above ours – HE surpasses us in every WAY (Isa. 55:8-9). When we read the familiar story of Jesus’ birth, don’t you wonder why God did things that way? A teenager, pregnant, before she is married – how scandalous, right? Many of us are blessed to have warm memories about the ways that our families have celebrated Christmas. How do you think this story that we celebrate with such joy and hope was experienced by young Mary and Joseph?
