“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you (John 14:26).” It was the Holy Spirit who imparted the perfect words of scripture to imperfect men. It was the Holy Spirit who taught those men how to build the church and live holy lives that pleased God. It is the Holy Spirit who longs to reveal to us the depths of God that we could be true followers of Jesus filled with the wisdom of God.

Welcome to our new sermon series, “It’s Better This Way”. Over two thousand years ago, in some of the last moments that Jesus had with His disciples before being arrested, He told them “It is to your advantage that I go away”. Can you imagine the perplexed looks; the furrowed brows of the disciples as they heard Jesus say this? He then adds, “…for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.” (John 16:7). Who is this Helper that Jesus was referring to? Come join us this week as we introduce you to someone we’ll be getting to know better & more deeply over the next 6 weeks: the Holy Spirit.
