You Can't Beat Grace

Galatians

The new-found Church is in danger of being shattered before it's properly begun. The question was this: do Gentile believers have to become Jews and keep Jewish laws in order to be accepted into the fold? Paul is accused of preaching a different gospel from that of the Senior Apostles and one that is at odds with the Jerusalem Church. Paul now defends himself by clearly stating the grace message he preached, how he received God's grace and what effect that grace had on him.

From Series: "Galatians"

You've probably all heard it said, "If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is." A deal or an offer pops up and we feel like we've just been given an incredible offer of a lifetime...for about 15 seconds. Then something in our gut says, "Wait a second, that seems too good to be true...". And more times than not, we're exactly right. We begin our new summer sermon series: "By Grace Alone", a study of the book of Galatians. From the very beginning of the book, Paul calls out the people for "following a different way that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News." (1:7). Because being saved by grace (alone) through faith seemed too good to be true, the people couldn't believe it. How about you?
