Cultural Relevancy

This week we conclude our fall sermon series on “Values” by looking at our value of Cultural Relevancy. To be culturally relevant is to live with a great paradox as a Christian. As children of the eternal God, we live on earth by the foreign values of the Kingdom of Heaven. As children of human parents, we live with all types of limits in a broken world surrounded by people living for all different ideals. Where these two “cultures” collide, we find the naturally-super-natural Christian life. It’s a life that offers a beautiful alternative to those nearby. A life that is attractive, a life of hope and healing, a life that reflects the nature of Jesus Christ.
