Sam and his wife, Kara, have been married for 25 years and have five children: Anna, Elizabeth, Jack, Whipp, and Mary Sloan. Sam is a graduate of JMU and a former Young Life staff person. For the last 20 years Sam has been working at a life sciences company where he held multiple operational roles. He has also continued to serve in the community during that time. Sam enjoys outdoor recreation, reading, and chasing his family around.
