Love Never Fails
Ever failed? Maybe a class, or a driving test, or a relationship, or keeping a promise, or unable to control some area of your life? Failing stinks – it is difficult to get up once we have fallen or failed. Peter had a pretty epic failure and we have it recorded in detail for all of us to see; pretty scary to think about my (our) failures being recorded for all to see. Hallelujah, Jesus is alive! HE didn’t fail, and His love never fails!! This Sunday we will look together at what love has to do with the resurrection and with our failures.

It’s pretty typical for a church’s Easter sermons to begin by talking about Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and end one week later on Easter Sunday with the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. But what if rewind the tape back a bit further and study what was going on right before the triumphal entry. What was Jesus doing? Was he worried about what was to come? Sad? Was he backing off from the people who were about to crucify Him? What’s love got to do with the rather “common” (for Jesus, at least!) encounters that we find Him in?
