Serving Up Vegetables
Some things are just hard to swallow: over-sized vitamins, nasty-tasting medicines, various vegetables....and portions of 1 Peter 3! Having just finished encouraging believers in 1 Peter 2 to submit to those in authority (the government, their bosses) and to be encouraged when they suffer for doing what is right, Peter now lays out some potentially "hard to swallow" directives to wives, husbands and any/all relationships. This is followed by even more encouragement for those who are suffering (Gulp!). Really, Peter?!?!?

From Series: "Grace and Hope"
As Peter writes this letter to the Christians scattered throughout Asia Minor, they are already encountering some measure of persecution – and it appears that even more suffering is on the horizon. This letter is an encouragement to follow Christ’s example and remain faithful no matter what kind of suffering these trials produce. Throughout this short book in the New Testament, Peter urges believers to have hope and to continue trusting the Lord no matter what the circumstance.
