Have you ever watched a 4-year-old try to swing a sledgehammer? Provided they don’t smash their foot (or yours), it’s quite a fun thing to watch. It’s fun until we consider that it’s a perfect picture of us trying to live this life on our own effort, brilliance, or gifting. This Sunday we’ll see the futility of life apart from God, the power that comes with God living in us, and the way to welcome this God into our lives.
