Kindness - Love in Action

God desires to make us into people of kindness. More than just being nice, friendly or thoughtful, kindness is the act of doing good to others without a thought of what we can get in return. Our motivation for kindness is love. I am reminded of a phrase that I often use with my boys: “Treat your brother how you would like to be treated”. As children of God, we are invited into a higher calling through the empowerment of Holy Spirit. It is by being filled with the Spirit of God that we are filled with the fruit of the Spirit that Paul talks about in Galatians 5. As we allow the love of God to grow in us, we are able to put love in action and become people of kindness.

From Series: "Locally Grown"

Locally Grown. Welcome to our new sermon series where we will teach on each of the fruits of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23. Love. Joy. Peace, Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-Control. Could our world not use a little (a lot!) more of all of these right now?? As we allow the Holy Spirit full access to our lives, all of this fruit grows in us (doesn't get more local than that!) and then flows out of us. What's the condition of your fruit lately? The fruit of the Spirit. It. Is. Quality!
